VR46 Ducati rider Fabio Di Giannantonio celebrated his third place finish at Mugello during the Italian Grand Prix with goosebumps, calling it a real dream to reach the podium at his home MotoGP track. Despite the dominance of Marc Marquez and his brother Alex, Di Giannantonio pushed hard and made an aggressive late-race overtake on Francesco Bagnaia to secure his maiden premier class podium. The Italian rider expressed his joy at fulfilling a childhood dream of standing on the podium with special helmets and liveries in front of an amazing crowd. Di Giannantonio reflected on the emotional moment of standing on the podium, feeling goosebumps down his suit as he soaked in the atmosphere. Although he narrowly missed out on challenging Alex Marquez for second, Di Giannantonio acknowledged the need to start higher on the grid for future races in order to compete with the top riders. The podium finish at Mugello marked a positive step for the VR46 team, adding to their growing tally of four podiums split between Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli. After a slight dip in form in the previous races, the podium result served as a boost for Di Giannantonio, who now aims to continue his momentum and close the gap with the leading competitors in the upcoming races.
